These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Calcite app and related services (the “Services”). By downloading, accessing, or using Calcite, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. It is part of how we operate Calcite; read it together with these Terms.
Platforms: Calcite is available on iOS today. An Android version is planned; when it ships, these Terms will apply there too unless we publish platform-specific terms.
1. What Calcite is (and is not)
Calcite is an AI workout planning app. It helps you plan and adjust workouts through AI-assisted conversations and related tools.
Calcite is not medical care. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a medical device, and it is not a substitute for advice from a physician, physical therapist, or other qualified professional. Always seek professional care for medical concerns, injuries, or before starting a new exercise program if you have health conditions. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call emergency services immediately.
Workout plans and coaching content may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Exercise carries risk of injury. You are responsible for how you use Calcite and for training within your limits.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Calcite. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Services where that permission is required.
You must have the legal capacity to enter a binding contract (or your parent/guardian must agree on your behalf where applicable).
3. Accounts and guest use
You may be able to use parts of Calcite without creating an account. Some features (including restoring purchases across devices or syncing) may require sign-in.
If you create an account:
- Provide accurate information and keep it updated.
- Keep your login credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
You may delete your account in the app or by contacting privacy@calcite.app. Deletion is described further in our Privacy Policy.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Calcite is offered as a paid subscription.
Purchases through app stores
At launch, subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store. When Android ships, Google Play billing may also apply.
If you subscribe through Apple (or later Google Play):
- Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (or as otherwise required by the store).
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current rate.
- You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple (or Google) account settings, not by deleting the app alone.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, except where law requires otherwise.
Prices and changes
Prices are shown in the app and/or store listing before you purchase. We may change subscription prices prospectively; store rules and notice requirements will apply.
Free trials / offers
If a free trial or introductory offer is available, its length and conversion terms will be disclosed at signup. Unless you cancel in time, the paid subscription begins when the trial ends.
5. License to use Calcite
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Calcite for your own personal, non-commercial workout planning and fitness coaching.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Services.
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, except where law prohibits that restriction.
- Bypass security or access controls.
- Use Calcite to build a competing product using our content or models in an abusive way.
- Scrape, bulk-export, or automate access in a way that harms the Services.
- Use Calcite for unlawful, harmful, harassing, or abusive purposes.
- Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes others’ rights.
- Misrepresent Calcite as medical advice, clinical care, or a substitute for a qualified trainer when one is needed.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or create risk for users or the Services.
6. Your content
You retain rights to content you submit (for example, profile details and chat messages) (“Your Content”).
You grant Calcite a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and use Your Content only as needed to provide and improve workout planning for you and to operate the Services, consistent with our Privacy Policy — including our commitments that we do not sell your data, do not use it for ads, do not send it to advertisers or data brokers, and do not use it to train AI models.
You are responsible for Your Content. Do not submit content that is illegal or that you do not have rights to share.
7. AI features
Calcite uses artificial intelligence to generate workout plans and coaching responses. AI output can be inaccurate or inappropriate. You should use judgment, progress gradually, and consult qualified professionals for health or injury concerns.
We configure AI processing so that providers do not retain your chats for their own purposes and so that your chats and logs are not used to train AI models, as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual property
Calcite, including its software, branding, and content we provide (excluding Your Content), is owned by [Company Name] or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.
9. Third-party services
The Services may depend on third parties (for example, Apple, Google, cloud hosts, and AI providers). Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
If you download Calcite from the Apple App Store (or, when available, Google Play), you acknowledge that Apple or Google are not parties to these Terms (except as required by their standard EULA / distribution terms), and that they have no obligation to provide support for Calcite beyond what their store rules require.
10. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that workout plans or results will meet your expectations.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in those places, disclaimers apply to the fullest extent allowed.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CALCITE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO CALCITE FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) $50.
These limits do not apply where prohibited by law (including liability for fraud or for death/personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is not allowed).
12. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify Calcite against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from Your Content or your misuse of the Services or violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to the Services or Terms
We may update the Services and these Terms. For material changes to the Terms, we will provide notice (for example in the app or by updating the effective date). If you continue using Calcite after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Services and cancel any subscription.
14. Termination
You may stop using Calcite at any time and cancel your subscription through your app store account settings. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services.
Provisions that by nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law) will survive termination.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts in California will have jurisdiction over disputes, except where applicable law gives you mandatory rights to bring claims in your home jurisdiction (including as a consumer).
16. Miscellaneous
- These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services (along with the Privacy Policy and any store terms that apply to your purchase).
- If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, merger, or sale of assets.
- Headings are for convenience only.

Where required by Apple Guideline 3.1.2 (and similar store rules), functional links to these Terms of Use (EULA) and our Privacy Policy must also appear in the app (including on the subscription screen) and in store metadata.
